Why we work
this way.

When I opened RightsLawFirm in 2017, I was certain about one thing: a law firm is judged not by what it says about itself, but by how the work feels to the person on the other side of the file.

A legal matter is rarely just a legal matter. It is a deadline that has crept up, a decision waiting to be made, a contract that someone is anxious about, a question that has been asked of two other firms with no clear answer yet. The work we do is, before anything else, an attempt to make that easier.

That is why we read the file before the meeting and not during it. Why calls are returned the same day. Why engagement letters say what the work will cost, in plain numbers. Why when the answer is hard, we give it directly. Anything else is a kindness that costs the client more in the end.

What we have built, we have built through the clients who have stayed, and the ones they have sent. That is the only measure of a practice we trust.
